Hi, I'm Ashwin Gerald

A diving professional based in India — working worldwide.

I’m an IMCA Class II Diver, DMT (Diver Medic Technician), 3.1U CSWIP Inspection Diver, and also an SSI and PADI scuba diving instructor.

My diving career began in 2012, when like most people at some point in their life, I fell in love with the ocean. So I started to teach scuba diving. First in India, and then in Oman and Qatar.

But that wasn't (always) enough.

Seeking new challenges that would take me to new horizons, I set off to work as a commercial diver.

Since then, I've worked as a ship husbandry diver in the UAE, as an inspection and salvage diver in Singapore, and as an offshore construction diver in Saudi Arabia.

Welding, rigging, cutting subsea structures, and using hydraulic and high-pressure tools are my thing because I love a good project.

My next step is to continue working hard for offshore companies and improving my skills and abilities to stay sharp in the field. Then one day who knows? My journey doesn't end here.

Salvage & Civil Clearance Diver

Having worked in onshore and offshore salvage operations, I know how to work in an emergency as a part of a team.

While in Singapore, I worked as a ship husbandry diver for naval contractors. My job was to find and report any foreign and suspicious objects blinded or fixed to the hull and structure before permitting them to enter Singaporean waters.

Other projects include:

  1. Emergency vessel response (props and intake repairs and damage control)

  2. Salvage of old and damaged crafts for governmental and insurance inspection

  3. Recovery of lost anchors and subsea elements due to failure and weather damage

  4. Removal and replacement of signaling buoys and water treatment and monitoring beacons in different depths for survey and mapping projects

  5. Debris removal and structure repairs using Brocco and cold hydraulic tools

Feel free to contact me for more details.
